Fabrice Schmitt
Tour leader, birder and naturalist. Impassioned by ornithology for more than 20 years,
fell in love with the birds of South America during his first visit to Peru in 1995. Since
then he has explored this continent by visiting almost all of its countries discovering its
flora, fauna and wonderful people. However, the Andean countries, and particularly Peru,
have remained his passion. Although he has made numerous trips in the jungle, mountains,
cloud forests and deserts of this wonderful country there is still a lot to be discovered.
He has lived in Santiago of Chile since July 2005 where he carries out many activities in
association with the study and protection of birds UNORCH (Union de los ORnitologos CHilenos).
Professionally, after teaching for eight years, he now works as a guide for a travel agency
specializing in birding trips in Peru and all neighbouring countries.
